Windvest Motorcycle Products Essay CASE 4: WindVest Motorcycle Products Down the Windy Road May 22, 2011 Case summary: WindVest is a small family business specialized in designing and manufacturing windshields for motorcycles. The company has experienced an annual growth of 10% and 1. 5 million Dollars of sales. In order to overcome the local competition WindVest would like to improve the company’s efficiency trough the restructuring of their supply chain and finding suppliers that are located around their headquarter located in Campbel in California. WinVest is encountering a lot of problems issues related to leadership and organization dysfunctioning which make the implementation of their new strategy a hard task. 1. How might the Dobers address the management issues they face relating to control and delegation? What steps should they take to deal with the issues of running a family business? We think that the Dobers have diverse managerial issues, such as non efficient business organization, absence of HR strategy, and bad repartition of responsibilities and duties. Doug is in charge of the manufacturing, marketing, and after sales. Consequently, Doug doesn’t have enough time and resources to do promotional marketing actions to increase his customer base. He couldn’t attend the annual Hampshire Biker Rally that draws 300Â  000 bikers a year. Doug also has a lack in negotiation skills especially when negotiating prices with his suppliers. Marilyn, Norm’s wife is responsible of accounting and does not want to delegate some of her duties to her daughter Tami. Also, we recommend creating a customer service position in order to deal with clients’ requests and complaints. On the other hand, Doug being the senior manager of the company, he is to ask his mother to gradually delegate her accounting responsibilities to her daughter Tami. 2. What areas of WinVest business plan are going to be the most important in the next two years? The goal of Doug after two years is to penetrate the European market. After establishing the new management organization and improving the leadership style, WindVest need to focus on three main areas in the business plan. The company needs to develop an operational plan by expanding their production line and optimizing the supply chain activity by looking for low price suppliers for the same product quality. The company will have to develop a marketing strategy through a study of the European market. Also WindVest has to enlarge its distribution channel through the use of Harley Davidson retailers’ network. 3. What recommendations can you make to improve marketing domestic strategy? WindVest has a good quality product used by the most prestigious bike brands which is Harley Davidson. Therefore, the product has a good customer base in the U. S. We advise Doug to cultivate an interactive and enthusiastic relationship with distributors like the one in Florida, by giving incentives such as discounts and free branded goodies. Also, the bikers gathering in the US is an opportunity to be ceased because of the huge number of bikers they attract (up to 1 million bikers annually). WindVest make one third of its sales through internet and phone. The company could make a convention with a call center to promote and sale their products by phone. 4. What challenges would you anticipate for WinVest as they enter the European market? What steps should the company take to enter this market? To anticipate the entering in the European market, WindVest company needs to conduct a market research and to assess how strong the opportunity is. The marketing research has to include the 3Ms meaning the Market size, the Market demand and the Margin analysis. Moreover they need also to study; ? Customer segmentation ? Pricing strategy ? Distribution channels (whole salers, retailers, bike manufacturers, etc) ? Make alliance with European partners ? How to adapt the product to the European climate needs. 5. Once you have decided on a strategy, brainstorm with others in your class to determine ways that WindVest can optimize the performance of its sales and distribution channels? In order to optimize the performance of the company sales and distribution channels, the company would have to: ? Develop distribution channels by doing alliances with distributors and dealers where the company is not well present and with high potential. ? Participate in the bike gathering events. ? Participate in the bike shows where there is more opportunity of increasing sales. ? Extend advertizing to other states radios where there is a high potential of growth.

According To Kizlik (2014), objectives That Are Used In Education, According To Kizlik (2014), objectives That Are Used In Education, Whether They Are Called Learning – Coursework Example Educational Objectives in Health Provision Health providers, nurses in particular, always have to design programs that are aimed at educating the community; the patients and their various families. These objectives can either be long term or short term. The relevance of such programs is in the creation of awareness to the community on different health issues. The objectives formulated by the health must comply with Kizlik (2014) idea that objectives are terms that refer to descriptions of observable behavior that are used to make the judgment about learning. In designing the educational objectives that articulate the needs of both the patients and the families, Kizlik’s postulate of condition, verb and criteria parts of the objective must be strictly adhered to. All the three parts of the objective must be flexible, doable and achievable by the patient. Health providers must also consider engaging the patient and the family to take part in formulation of the educational progra m objectives. By engaging the community, the health providers open up the avenue for obtaining the real situations on the ground. For example, if the educational program was intended to change the behavior of the patient, the family must be involved since they will be with the patient most of the time. In the case of changing the behavior of the whole community, the health providers would want to come up realistic and achievable objective. This is where the community comes in; both the directly affected and the indirectly affected groups. Nurses must, therefore, establish the main behavior problems by inviting the suggestions of the community. This way, the educational objectives shall be relevant and attainable.ReferenceKizlik, B. Countries Using the Euro as Their Currency

Countries Using the Euro as Their Currency On January 1, 1999, one of the largest steps toward European unification took place with the introduction of the euro as the official currency in 12 countries (Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain). The establishment of a common currency had the aims of greater economic integration and the unification of Europe as a common market. It also would enable easier transactions between people of different countries by having fewer conversions from currency to currency. Creating the euro was also seen as a way to keep the peace due to the economic integration of the countries. Key Takeaways: The Euro The goal of the establishment of the Euro was to make European commerce easier and more integrated. The currency debuted in 2002 in a dozen countries. More have since signed on, and additional countries plan to.The euro and the dollar are key to global markets. At first,  the euro was used in trades between banks and tracked alongside the countries currencies. Banknotes and coins came out a few years later for the public to  use in everyday  transactions. Residents of the first European Union countries that adopted the euro began using the banknotes and coins on January 1, 2002. People had to use up all their cash in the countries old paper money and coinage before mid-year that year, when they would no longer be accepted in monetary transactions and the euro would be used exclusively. The Euro: â‚ ¬ The symbol for the euro is a rounded E with one or two cross lines: â‚ ¬. Euros are divided into euro cents, each euro cent  consisting of one one-hundredth of a euro. Euro Countries The euro is one of the worlds most powerful currencies, used by more than 175 million Europeans in 19 of  28 EU member countries, as well as some countries that are not formally members of the EU. Countries currently using the euro: Andorra (not an EU member)AustriaBelgiumCyprusEstoniaFinlandFranceGermanyGreeceIrelandItalyKosovo (not all countries recognize Kosovo as an independent nation)LatviaLithuaniaLuxembourgMaltaMonaco (not in the EU)Montenegro (not in the EU)The NetherlandsPortugalSan Marino (not in the EU)SlovakiaSloveniaSpainVatican City (not in the EU) Territories that use the euro: Akrotiri and Dhekelia (British territory)French Southern and Antarctic LandsSaint Bathelemy (overseas collectivity of France)Saint Martin (overseas collectivity of France)Saint Pierre and Miquelon (overseas collectivity of France) Countries that do not use the euro, but are part of the Single Euro Payments Area, which allows simplified bank transfers: BulgariaCroatiaCzech RepublicDenmarkHungaryIcelandLiechtensteinNorwayPolandRomaniaSwedenSwitzerlandUnited Kingdom Recent and Future Euro Countries On January 1, 2009, Slovakia started using the euro, and Estonia began using it on January 1, 2011. Latvia joined in on January 1, 2014, and Lithuania began using the euro January 1, 2015. EU members the United Kingdom, Denmark, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, and Sweden dont use the euro as of 2019. New EU member countries are working toward becoming part of the eurozone. Romania planned to start using the currency in 2022, and Croatia planned to adopt it in 2024.   Countries economies are evaluated every two years to see if theyre strong enough to adopt the euro, using figures such as interest rates, inflation, exchange rates, gross domestic product, and government debt. The EU takes these measures of economic stability to evaluate whether a new eurozone country would be less likely to need a fiscal stimulus or bailout after joining. The financial crisis in 2008 and its fallout, such as the controversy of whether Greece should be bailed out or leave the eurozone, put some strain on the EU. Why Some Countries Dont Use It Great Britain and Denmark are the two countries that, as part of the EU, opted out of adopting the currency. Great Britain even voted to leave the European Union in the Brexit vote in 2016, so as of 2019, the currency issue looked to be a moot point. The pound sterling is a major currency in the world, so leaders didnt see the need to adopt anything else at the time the euro was created. Countries that dont use the euro maintain the independence of their economies, such as the ability to set their own interest rates and other monetary policies; the flip side is that they must manage their own financial crises and cant go to the European Central Bank for assistance. However, not having an economy interdependent with those of other countries might make some sense. The countries that opted-out of the euro could be more nimble in dealing with a widespread crisis that affects countries differently, such in the case of Greece in 2007–2008. It took years for bailouts of Greece to be decided upon, for example, and Greece couldnt set its own policies or take its own measures. A hot-button issue at the time was whether bankrupt Greece was going to stay in the eurozone or bring back its currency.   Denmark doesnt use the euro but has its currency, the krone, tied to the euro to maintain the countrys economic stability and predictability and to avoid major fluctuations and market speculation on its currency. It is pegged  within a 2.25 percent range of 7.46038 kroner to the euro. Before the creation of the euro, the krone was pegged to the German  Deutsche mark. Euro vs. Dollar The dollar has historically been used as a common currency internationally, just like English has been a common language between people of different countries. Foreign countries and investors see U.S. Treasury bonds as safe places to put their money because of a stable government  behind the dollar; some countries even hold their financial reserves in dollars. The currency also has size and liquidity, which are needed to be a major world player. When the euro was first established, the exchange rate was set based on the European Currency Unit, which was based on a collection of European currencies. It generally runs a little higher than the dollar. Its historical low was 0.8225 (October 2000), and its historical high was 1.6037, reached in July 2008 during the subprime mortgage crisis and the failure of the Lehman Brothers financial services company. Professor Steve Hanke, writing in Forbes in 2018, postulated that setting an exchange rate zone of stability formally between the euro and dollar would keep the entire global market stable because of the prolonged recession that happened worldwide following the collapse of Lehman Brothers.

Media archeological analysis of a technological Essay

Media archeological analysis of a technological - Essay Example s and valve amplifiers are low current and high voltage devices that normally operate at relatively lower voltages and higher currents for a similar level of power. The trait of high voltage makes the tube and valve amplifies to be suited for radio transmitters. The valves amplifiers are used in the contemporary society in instances such as high power radio transmitters. Experts argue that valve amplifiers shall reduce noise that is typically experienced in Wi-FI systems, without losing their musical and the treble details. Various transistor amplifiers sound harshness and they emphasize the loud sound that is found in the CD players. The transistor amplifiers have a tendency of emphasizing the sibilance of the soft sounds. The valve amplifiers are classified into different classes. The class A amplifiers lack crossover distortion at the lowest levels. Moreover, the valve amplifiers permit an individual to heat the â€Å"silence† amid the notes, followed by silence (or the note dying echo in the concert hall) immediately followed by silence (or dying note echo in the concert hall. The classes â€Å"A† valve amplifiers have significant â€Å"silence† amid the instrument and notes that create an exceptionally stereo image on quality loudspeakers, If the volume of the valve amplifiers is adjusted. Valve and tube amplifiers are used mainly in guitars as well as in high-end-audio as a result of the sound quality that they produce, and as a result of their linear nature that results from their low distortion. Valve and tube amplifiers are vastly out of date in other places as a result of their higher consumption of power, weight and reliability when compared to other transistors. Telephony is another application where valve and tube amplifiers are used. This is for the reason that a solitary valve repeater amplifier can increase various calls at one instance, and thus it is cost effective. In the present society tube and valve amplifiers are mainly used for musical

Data Analysis - Essay Example Most of these incidents are of different nature which is due to the lack safety measures adopted by the people. Many incidents have been recorded in the year 2012 which occurred due to the avoidance of wearing a helmet while climbing mountains which results in head injuries when people fall off from greater heights. Forget My Face :: essays research papers

Forget my face. I belong in London. Forget my name and take this as goodbye. No, I will not put a fight, my will for living has died. I've been living a lie. I am a lie. I'm trite and cheap. I have five dollars and a couple coins with me. If I continue living a lie, then I might as well be paralyzed. Lies are truths never born. So when I board the plane take it as my rebirth. A twelve hour flight in the womb over lonely seas and if by chance this plane was to go down I'd curl up in my polyester seat and turn as white as a premature baby. But if luck goes my way I'll be delivered safely into England as healthy as a new born baby boy. The airport's bustling and my feet are moving faster than I'm thinking. Through heavy metal doors I step into the streets slick with rain. As I smell the cool air, my lungs transpire London. With each sense intruiged I'm reborn and anxious for what comes next. I'm as healthy as I've ever been, I'm alive as Las Vegas night-life and it's only ten AM. Alone I walk down a road with green scenery. A sky so plain and trees so green. Arriving at the house I took for rent I've realized I'll never miss my bed. Too many nights it's caught my tears and it's caving in from memories of you and me. A new bed will provide new comfort in a new city I'd like to call my home. Out in town I'm not a forienger, I'm like a local and I'm more light hearted than I've ever felt. It's been six months and I've seen Big Ben and I sat upon the London Eye where I met this beautiful boy. He was gentle as he told me his name and he took a seat next to me. On our 4th time revolving over the sea he'd asked me out for coffee. This boy was clever. As we reached our 3rd cup of coffee we sat and learned about eachother. As time when on each coffee kept us awake and we sat until the early morning talking about English history. The Virgin Queen was recognized and pilgrimage was condoned. We went through all of Shakespeares plays and recited our favorite lines.

Why Grammar Is Important

It is obvious that not many people realize how important grammar is. There are so many abbreviations and so much slang nowadays, it is impossible to know what people mean. I can’t even count how many times I have had to call someone to ask them what they were talking about in a text message because they didn’t use correct punctuation and grammar. I never did pay attention that much to grammar or punctuation either when I was in elementary and middle school. However, ever since I have gotten to high school, I have become a grammar Nazi.Which brings me to this conclusion, children are being educated enough to be hired for a job, they just choose not to pay attention in class. Now I know that my conclusion sounds bad, so let me elaborate. Jobs should not be so critical on who they choose to hire; especially when it is something as petty as getting â€Å"to† and â€Å"too† mixed up. It depends on the job though what kind of English education they should have. If a job does not require much writing, what difference does it make? Unless you are using things like â€Å"YOLO† or â€Å"LOL† on your resume, then there is no problem. If a job requires good English, then yes, I can see the problem. I must admit, however, that I have heard some waiters and cashiers use some odd grammar. It makes you think twice about what it takes to get a job in today’s time. I understand that homophones can be confusing. Think about it, â€Å"here† and â€Å"hear†, â€Å"they’re†, â€Å"their†, and â€Å"there†. Is it just me, or do other people realize that it is not that hard to realize the differences? As I said, I have become a complete grammar Nazi, I HATE seeing things like that. I went to there house and they’re dog bit me. † No, you went to their house and their dog bit you. I swear, it is as if people make these idiotic mistakes on purpose. Something else that not many people kn ow, grammar saves lives†¦ Moreover, faces. Take for instance a statement like this: â€Å"Lets it Grandma! † It should be, â€Å"Let’s eat, Grandma! † It is amazing how one simple comma can save a dear old woman’s life. â€Å"Woman without her man is nothing. † Pardon me? More like, â€Å"Woman: Without her, man is nothing. † That is better. Also, a bit of advice for those trying to sound awesome when they say, †I could care less,† it’s, †I couldn’t care less. † By saying that you could care less is implying that you do actually care. As you can see, grammar has a huge impact of our lives. It also is the basis of the difference between what you want people to think you mean, and what they think you mean. So make life easy on everyone, use correct grammar and spelling. Stop clubbing baby seals. OR, stop clubbing, baby seals. Remember, grammar saves lives.
